On every tongue drum listed you will find African Padauk used as the sound board. There is simply no other wood I have
found which will duplicate the warm harmonic ring produced by this wood.On our 12 Key Standards we use a variety of Red Oak, which provides a very warm tone, for the sides. Red Oak is also
the wood of choice for the sides on our 12 and 14 Key Bass Giants.When you use very hard woods, such as Hickory or Maple, on the sides, the result is a slightly brighter tone, with a little less
warmth, a little more ring.If you prefer your tongue drum with a brighter tone, and a little more volume, we will happily send your Steve Roberts tongue drum
with Hickory or Maple sides. This may increase the price, but only slightly. Please email or call, we're always here to discuss
