The Pentatonic Tunings
These are the ideal tunings for the tongue drum. Based on a 5 note scale which is found in all genres of music. With a pentatonic tuning, you can effortlessly play any combination of notes to make wonderful sounds. The drum tuning of choice for the beginner to advanced musician, and great for recording with other music. They start pleasantly deep, and end thrillingly high, covering 3 octaves.

The Major Tunings
These are the complete do,re,me,fa,so,la,ti,do tunings. Also referred to as diatonic tunings because they have five whole tones and two half tones in the scale. Beautiful melody lines can be played within these scales, the 'cheery' major or the 'melancholy' minor sound can be accentuated depending on which notes you play.
The Combination Tunings
Combining the best of the Pentatonic Tunings and the Major Tunings we give you the combination tunings. In the lower octave these tunings are a full major tuning, minus the 7th note. In the upper octave, they are a complete pentatonic tuning. The result is a fun tuning that's a little more intricate than a pentatonic, a little more rhythmic than a full major.

The Natural Minors
A natural minor tuning has all of the notes of a major tuning, only in a different order. This little difference in the intervals between notes is what gives the natural minor the moody sound that is so captivating.
The Rumanikos
Based on a Greek folk tuning, from the times when the people of Greece met the peoples of Roma. This tuning has a very Mediterranean flavor.
GreenGrass
A funky jazzy blues style tuning in the Key of E with plenty of twists and turns.
Meditation Tuning
Based on an ancient tuning from the Island of Japan, this is a 4 note scale in Bflat. There is something very calming about this tuning, ideal for relaxing and meditation.
